Shaharzaad Said is a dedicated legal professional with a focus on fundamental rights issues, including media law. She also has extensive expertise in intellectual property law and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Boekx, Shaharzaad worked as a senior associate at a medium-sized Rotterdam law firm, managing complex cases before Dutch and European courts, as well as the Benelux Court of Justice. She subsequently enrolled in the judicial training program at the District Court of Rotterdam for a year, where she handled a broad range of civil cases and further developed her expertise in legal reasoning, multidisciplinary decision-making, and conflict mediation.
Shaharzaad obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam and graduated with honours from the Master of Laws (LL.M) programme at Leiden University. During her studies, she spent a semester on an exchange programme at Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law in New York State.
Shaharzaad brings a strong commitment to social impact, demonstrated through volunteer work with Lawyers for Lawyers on human rights advocacy, and humanitarian service for several months in a Greek refugee camp.
